Community Connections
The curriculum at Peacham School is rooted in an appreciation for the community of our town. Place-based learning +interviewing elders + barns projects +historical buildings ++
Peacham School makes many contributions to the community throughout the year. Among them are the many concerts, luncheons, celebrations of learning and other special school events when the students and staff invite members of the local community to join them. We also maintain 'Mother Hubbard's Cupboard' to collect food donations . At Holiday time we enjoy sharing our caroling and gifting through the town.
Volunteers
The community makes valuable contributions to the Peacham Elementary School. We are very fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers, who strengthen our program and serve as role models and mentors for our students. Through their recent work with volunteers, students have made jewelry, designed a space shuttle, created pin-hole cameras, hand-dipped candles, learned how to prepare healthy snacks, and planted trees.
