Grades 7-8 Study Committee

The Grades 7-8 Study Committee was appointed by the School Board to explore the addition of those grades with the goal of presenting a plan to the town by December, 2008. The Board has tried to form a committee whose members represent a variety of backgrounds and expertise, and who will be fair and accurate in their research and conclusions. In addition to considering a potential curriculum for grades 7/8, the committee will study finances, staffing, physical space issues, social-emotional needs, extracurricular activities and transportation. Committee meetings are warned in advance, are open to the public and are documented by minutes which are posted in the village and on the school website. A graduate student research assistant has been asked to identify relevant research on this topic, and links to literature will be provided as it becomes available.
