Dear Peacham School families and friends,
The big news today is that Zeb Kane is representing PES at the National Geographic Bee at Middlebury College. By the time you read this he will have competed against students from across the state, many much older than he is as a 4th grader. We are cheering you on, Zeb!
The big news tomorrow is the annual PTF Mud & Muck Auction held at the Town Hall gym from 1-4pm. There are so many terrific treasures that you should be prepared for some exciting bidding. Bring some extra cash for the Thelma White Baked Goods Scholarship Raffle which will feature local treats as well as cakes from Bentley’s in Danville. Proceeds from the auction benefit our Ski and Swim programs and other school-wide activities. Proceeds from the Thelma White Scholarship raffle benefit a former PES student graduating high school this year.
Cheers to all,
Judy Ross, Principal
PES OutdoorSpace Update
With support from a Vermont Rural Partnership Grant we are making progress re-designing our playground and community spaces. Buddy classes recently put their heads together to provide specific input to our adult volunteers.
Our five week summer program will be offered beginning July 7 and run until August 8, from 8:30AM – 4:00PM. at the Barnet School, for Barnet and Peacham students; and at the Danville School, for Danville and Walden students. Ongoing daily activities for the five weeks will include fun in the flower and vegetable gardens, a variety of art and crafts, cooking yumminess in the kitchen, board and outdoor team games, taking a look and listen out on the nature trails, and staying cool with yoga. Field trips will find us exploring the lakes, pond and rivers, visiting local mills and other historic sites, and having a great time in such special places as the Montshire Museum. We are currently scheduling two weeks of swimming lessons which will give us the chance to get away, get wet, and cool off.
Bus service between 8:00AM – 8:30AM will gather students in Peacham and Walden for delivery at the Barnet and Danville Schools. Afternoon bus service will pick up at each school and return Peacham and Walden students to their point of origin between 3:30PM – 4:00PM (locations not yet identified). A healthy lunch and snack will be provided. Choice of activities and registration information will be sent home with students prior to the spring break.
